Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding Event-Based Pricing

What is an ingested event?

An ingested event is any event received by DataBridge through our trackers or APIs. We never charge for ingested events - they're always free, regardless of volume. This allows you to send all your data to DataBridge without worrying about unexpected costs.

However, note that ingested events are stored temporarily. If your plan's delivered event limit is reached, ingested events that haven't been processed may be discarded.

Fair use policy: To keep the platform reliable for all customers, ingestion volume is capped at 10× your plan's delivered-event allowance. For example, on the Growth plan (1M delivered events), you can ingest up to 10M events per month.

If you consistently exceed this ratio, we'll reach out to discuss a plan that better fits your usage.

What is a validated event?

A validated event is an event that has passed through DataBridge's validation layer, where we check it against your defined schemas and data quality rules. Validation is free and unlimited across all plans, ensuring your data quality checks don't impact your costs.

What is a delivered event?

A delivered event is an event that has been successfully sent to at least one destination (data warehouse, analytics tool, etc.). This is what drives your billing.

Important pricing details:

  • If an event is sent to multiple destinations, it still counts as just one delivered event
  • Events filtered out by DataBridge Functions don't count as delivered events
  • You control your costs by filtering unwanted events before delivery

Example: You send 1 million events to DataBridge. After validation and filtering, 200K events are delivered to both your data warehouse and analytics platform. You're billed for 200K delivered events, not 400K.

Data Quality at Rest

What are tracked datasets?

Tracked datasets are tables or data sources that DataBridge monitors for data quality issues at rest. This includes profiling, anomaly detection and continuous quality monitoring for data that's already stored in your warehouse or database.

This is separate from event ingestion - tracked datasets help you maintain quality for your existing data stores.

Deployment Options

What is DataBridge Cloud?

DataBridge Cloud is our fully-managed, multi-tenant SaaS offering. We handle all infrastructure, updates and maintenance. Simply sign up and start sending data - no DevOps required.
